Sour Cream Coffee Cake

1/2 cup of finely chopped walnuts or pecans

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon


1/2 cup butter or margarine

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup sour cream

2 eggs

1 teaspoon double-acting baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a small bowl combine nuts, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of sugar, set aside.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Grease pan (9″ tube pan preferably or brownie pan)

In a large bowl, with mixer at medium speed, beat 1 cup of sugar, with butter until light and fluffy.  Add remaining ingredients; beat at low speed until blended thoroughly, then beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.

Spread half the batter in baking pan.  Spread half of nut mixture in pan.  Spread the remaining batter then top with remaining nut mixture and bake for 60 to 65 minutes (9″ tube pan) or until a fork inserted comes out clean.

Cool for 10 minutes and enjoy.  I know I did.
