Quiche Lorraine

Pastry for 1 pie crust (see below)

1 tablespoon butter, softened

12 turkey bacon slices

4 eggs

2 cups heavy cream or whipping cream

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 pound shredded swiss cheese (1 cup)

prepare pastry

fry bacon until crispy, drain and crumble  (preheat oven to 425 degrees F)

Spread bacon in piecrust

mix remaining ingredients, pour in crust.

Bake 15 minutes, lower heat to 325 degrees F, Bake 35 minutes

Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Pastry for Quiche

2 cups All-Purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup shortening

5 to 6 tablespoons cold water

mix dry ingredients, cut shortening and water into the mix.

Ball up, then roll out to cover 9 ” pan
